SAM.gov Registration Checklist
SAM.gov registration is the first operational gate for most federal vendors. This checklist keeps identity, entity, banking, and representations work in one place before submission.
Confirm entity identity before starting
Match your legal business name, physical address, tax details, and ownership information against the records you use for banking and tax filings. Small mismatches can slow validation and make later renewals harder to reconcile.
Prepare assertions and representations
Collect NAICS codes, size standard context, socio-economic certifications, and points of contact before opening the workflow. Treat these fields as sales infrastructure because buyers and downstream systems use them for market research.
Review renewal timing
Do not wait until a solicitation is due. Build a renewal reminder at least 60 days before expiration so validation or banking changes do not block offer submission.
